Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP)

The Art of Manufacturing a NEW PIPE within the old one

PipeWorks Cured-In-Place Pipe Liner restores structural integrity to cracked and deteriorated underground pipes. Once installed inside the host pipe, CIPP will contain the flow within the pipe while keeping external water and roots out. CIPP provides the least cross sectional reduction of all methods used to rehabilitate pipes. The smooth jointless interior will improve the flow capacity. The high quality resin and superior dry tube used to manufacture PipeWorks Liner provide exceptional strength and resistance to corrosion from harsh sewer gases. PipeWorks Liner is carefully manufactured to meet or exceed ASTM F-1216, the industry standard for Cured-in-Place Piping.

Proven, cost effective rehabilitation for sewer lines and stormwater pipes

We have installed CIPP Liners in both small and large diameter sewer lines and stormwater drains, circular and egg shape pipes. The installations are in small towns, large cities, airports, military bases, private systems, and industrial plants.

For more than ten years PipeWorks has been extending the life of underground sewer and drainage structures without costly digging or lengthy interruption.

Trenchless Pipe Construction

Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)

Hi-tech drilling where other methods of trenchless pipeline installation are inappropriate

In 2008 PipeWorks purchased a Vermeer D100x120 HDD Rig. At that time this was the largest HDD rig in New Zealand. Since then, PipeWorks have tackled a great number of projects, setting a number of new benchmarks along the way. PipeWorks have the right tooling to drill through soft to medium rock and the right steering technology to drill accurately and consistently on grades of 1.5% or less. PipeWorks operate their rig in conjunction with very sophisticated and environmentally friendly mud recycling equipment. The drilling team has been equipped with the latest computer-aided planning software and sensitive steering equipment and has been very successful to date, performing some very complex drilling projects.

PipeWorks has access to the most experienced HDD knowledge in New Zealand. Our working relationship with Professor Sam Ariaratnam of Arizona State University allows PipeWorks to offer advice on complex drilling methodologies.

Environmental Rehabilitation

Restoration and rehabilitation of oxidation ponds and natural reserves

PipeWorks owns a dredge and a centrifuge suitable for sludge removal from WWTP ponds and similar structures. The dredge was originally built by Fletcher Construction to be used on their Mangere project. Fletcher rebuilt the Mangere Waste Water Treatment Plant and removed most of the original oxidation ponds as part of this contract. Since then PipeWorks have used their equipment with considerable success on a number of projects.

Reserve Rehabilitation

PipeWorks is often involved with the environmental and associated pipeline rehabilitation of reserves as part of pipeline rehabilitation and/or trenchless pipeline construction projects and more recently at the Goodall Reserve for MetroWater, a standalone environmental rehabilitation project.

PipeWorks is a specialist contractor with the capability and resources to upgrade industrial and utility pipelines using state-of-the-art technology. It specialises in trenchless pipeline rehabilitation and construction.

PipeWorks is based in Auckland with a branch office in Christchurch.

Trenchless technologies are less disruptive than open-excavation methods of pipeline works and considerably more environmentally friendly than traditional methods. Current methods used include Cured in Place Pipe lining (CIPP), Micro-tunnelling and Directional Drilling.

PipeWorks is the local leader in trenchless pipeline rehabilitation, having successfully delivered a great number of large and complex jobs during the last 10 years.

PipeWorks stays at the cutting-edge of industry developments, by employing US-based experts as consultants and undertaking specialist training in the US. Such international input, when integrated with PipeWorks’ strong local knowledge and the strength of parent company, Fletcher Construction, provides clients with an unrivalled certainty of delivery.
